Newton’s laws of motion:"To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Yin vs Yang
Heaven vs Hell
Comfort vs Discomfort
Health vs Illness
Love vs Hate
Happiness vs Sadness

To all things there is a price to be paid, a battle to be fought.

This little bird lives the ultimate life of freedom, he flies through the air with the greatest of ease and sees the world and all of it’s beauty. He depends on no one and lives as he wishes.

As with all he is now paying the price. he lives in single digit temperatures and the ground where he finds his nourishment is covered with inches of snow. Life is hard but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Freedom comes at a cost, we should all remember those that pay the price so that we may live our life in relative comfort and speak our minds, worship as we wish, and raise our children with the morals we wish to pass on.

I would like to thank those men and women that have built a great nation and gave us all the opportunities we share to live free and as we wish.

I will toast to you, pray for you, and always respect you,
Lonnie

Newton’s laws of motion are three physical laws that form the basis for classical mechanics. They have been expressed in several different ways over nearly three centuries,[1] and can be summarised as follows:

  1. In the absence of a net force, a body either is at rest or moves in a straight line with constant speed.
  2. A body experiencing a force F experiences an acceleration a related to F by F = ma, where m is the mass of the body. Alternatively, force is equal to the time derivative of momentum.
  3. Whenever a first body exerts a force F on a second body, the second body exerts a force −F on the first body. F and −F are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.

These laws describe the relationship between the forces acting on a body and the motion of that body. They were first compiled by Sir Isaac Newton in his work Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, first published on July 5, 1687.[2] Newton used them to explain and investigate the motion of many physical objects and systems.[3] For example, in the third volume of the text, Newton showed that these laws of motion, combined with his law of universal gravitation, explained Kepler’s laws of planetary motion.

My Baby Girl

This is my rendition of Lucille Rae or AKA “BB”.

In my mind’s eye I see her with halos and I just can’t keep from hugging her.

Have you ever sat at a poker table and won a huge pot and just known that this is as good as it will get and it’s time to rake your winnings and just walk away.

With three dogs in the house, all great but BB is the big pot and it’s time to enjoy my winnings.

Can you tell that we are spoiling this pup?

kitty Ocho

This cocky little male kitty will celebrate his second birthday tomorrow.

Outside of he and I being the only two males in this house we share a special bond. I had just had a near death experience and had not been home long from the hospital and I was an emotional wreck and I can still to this day feel the emotions of watching the miracle of life happen.

I sat in a chair beside a cardboard box, at that time a 49 year old man, and cried like a little baby at God’s gift, “the miracle of life”.

As he and his brothers and sisters aged enough to find new homes this little one “Ocho Cinco” named after a football player would crawl up onto my lap and take his nap and a bond grew. My  loving wife Dorothy could see the bond that had built and she knew what an emotional wreck I was. Dorothy completely understood when I told her I just couldn’t get rid of this one.

So this is how Ocho Cinco became a permanent member of our family. He is today a friend and playmate to the dogs and they sometimes treat him as if he was a squeaky toy but he’s tough and can take care of himself just fine.

Ocho doesn’t crawl up into my lap much anymore but I still love him and I wouldn’t want to embarrass him with a display of affection in front of the dogs.

Happy birthday my little friend,
Lonnie

Maggie Mae here,
Yes that’s the little tree rat rodent, Rocky D. Squirrel first thing in the morning before the little sissy gets his makeup on. And yes that’s a clip-on tail.

There will be plenty of time to chase you around when things warm up.

After seeing this photo I now understand why there is no Mrs. Squirrel,

Bug eyes

Hey Mutts,

I just thought I would drop you a line because I haven’t heard much from you lately.

Just so you know with the down turn in the economy and all of my investments tanking I didn’t get to winter in Florida this year.

So what’s the deal, did you finally except the inevitable, that you will never catch me?

I’m still out back anytime you get froggy,
Rocky D. Squirrel

black bear cub2

OK maybe I haven’t thought this all the way thru yet. Mother Nature gave the bear an unfair advantage of hibernation. I would love to sleep thru winter and with me having an IQ close but not as high as Jethro Bodine’s, I came up with this idea.

We have all heard of trans-gender surgery right? Well I would like to have trans-species surgery next December 26th to change me to a bear so I can sleep till spring and then I will have the surgery to change back.

Great minds think alike!

Oddly enough his real name is Max Baer.

Ok so I got a whole year to work out the bugs.

cross country skier

In Greek mythology, Hades kidnapped Persephone to be his wife. Zeus ordered Hades to return her to Demeter, the goddess of the Earth and her mother. However, Hades tricked Persephone into eating the food of the dead, so Zeus decreed that Persephone would spend six months with Demeter and six months with Hades. During the time her daughter is with Hades, Demeter became depressed and caused winter.

Hey Demeter, take a couple of Prozac and get over it. Have some Haagen-Dazs and take a nice bubble bath and cut us all a break.

I don’t ski and I don’t skate, so for me winter pretty much sucks. Oh and today it did get a little bit above freezing so that made the snow that nice dirty color and now it will freeze back hard as a rock.

Ya know what? I think I’m going to take a couple of Prozac and have some Haagen-Dazs and take a nice bubble bath,

summer dreams

If only to feel the warmth of the summer sun on your face. I have in my mind waged a war of the summer dreams vs. cabin fever and the victor has yet to be seen.

In my memory I can still hear the sweet songs of the birds and the sound of trees rustling from the gentle cooling breeze.

The reality is the blinding white of a mocking suns glare from the snow covered frozen tundra. A breeze would be a slap in the face now, there is a reason someone developed the wind chill index.

Even the sun works a short day and retires early.

I keep telling myself that the real battle is to keep the memories of green grass and the smell of flowers close at hand and pray for their early return.

If I can only spend as much time in the surreal world I have built in my head and ignore the reality of January, February, and March this war will be won.

This is your brain / This is your brain on cabin fever!

Peace

With today being Dorothy’s birthday I almost forgot to put the caption contest winners up

All finished in a three way tie, we just couldn’t get David Hasselhoff or Paula Abdul sobered up enough to cast the tie breaking vote.

Happy Birthday again Dorothy,
